Privacy & TCPA Policy

This Privacy & TCPA Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Pacific Solar Advisors, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. Pacific Solar Advisors is operated by ORC Consulting LLC, a Nevada limited liability company. Questions: contact us at the email in the footer.

What we collect

When you submit our quote form, we collect:

  • Your zip code
  • Your home type, roof age, and average monthly electric bill (estimate ranges only)
  • Your name, email address, and mobile phone number
  • Whether you consented to be contacted (TCPA + marketing) and whether you acknowledged the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
  • Technical data: timestamp, the page you came from, your IP address (used for anti-fraud only)

How we use it

We use your information for one purpose: to give you a solar quote.

  • We calculate an estimated savings figure based on your inputs and public utility rate data.
  • We share your contact info with one matched local installer (not multiple).
  • We may send you 1–5 follow-up messages by SMS or email to deliver your quote and check in.
  • If you check the marketing-opt-in box, we may also send occasional solar tips and market updates.

TCPA consent (required to receive your quote)

By checking the consent box on our quote form, you give express written consent for Pacific Solar Advisors (operated by ORC Consulting LLC) and one matched installer to contact you at the phone number and email address you provided. This includes:

  • Automated calls and pre-recorded voice messages
  • Text messages (SMS), including with autodialer technology
  • Standard message and data rates may apply

Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can revoke consent at any time:

  • Reply STOP to any text message to opt out of SMS
  • Reply HELP for help
  • Click the unsubscribe link in any email
  • Email us to request full deletion (see footer)

Material connection (FTC) disclosure

Per FTC Endorsement Guides, we disclose:

  • ORC Consulting LLC receives a fixed referral fee from the matched installer if you sign a contract with that installer.
  • The fee does NOT vary by system size, equipment selected, battery add-ons, or financing structure.
  • The fee is paid by the installer out of their margin — it is not added to your quote.
  • We selected the installer based on the five criteria listed on our About page, but you should always evaluate any installer independently. We encourage you to verify the installer's CSLB license at cslb.ca.gov and obtain multiple competing quotes if you wish.

Who we share with

  • One matched installer per submission.
  • Service providers we use to operate the service: messaging delivery (e.g., Twilio for SMS, Postmark for email), analytics (Cloudflare, privacy-respecting and cookie-free), and hosting (Cloudflare Pages/Workers, Amazon Web Services).
  • We do not sell your personal information for advertising.
  • We do not share with multiple installers, lead aggregators, or third-party marketers.

Your California rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information (PI).

Categories of PI we collect

  • Identifiers: name, email address, mobile phone number, IP address
  • Customer records: home zip code, home type, roof age range, monthly bill range
  • Internet activity: page visited prior to form submission, timestamp, browser/device user agent
  • Geolocation (approximate, from zip code only)
  • Inferences: derived solar shopping intent and language preference

Purposes of collection

  • To estimate your potential solar savings and connect you with one matched installer
  • To deliver the quote and follow up with you, as you have consented
  • To prevent fraud and abuse of the Service
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

Sharing of PI — opt-out right

Under CCPA / CPRA, our practice of sharing your contact information with one matched installer in exchange for a referral fee may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You have the right to opt out of this sharing at any time. If you opt out you will not receive an installer match (the rest of the Service still works). Apart from the matched installer and the service providers listed above, we do not sell or share your PI for cross-context behavioral advertising or any other purpose.

Your CCPA / CPRA rights

  • Right to know what PI we collect, use, share, and sell about you
  • Right to access a copy of the PI we hold about you
  • Right to correct inaccurate PI
  • Right to delete your PI (subject to limited exceptions)
  • Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of your PI
  • Right to limit use of sensitive PI (we do not collect sensitive PI as defined by CPRA, but the right exists)
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised these rights

How to exercise your rights

Email us at the address in the footer with the subject line "CCPA Request" and indicate which right you wish to exercise. We will verify your identity (typically by replying to your email on file and asking 2–3 questions about your prior submission) and respond within 45 days as required by law. There is no charge for these requests. To opt out of "sale" or "sharing" specifically, use the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." You may also designate an authorized agent in writing to make CCPA requests on your behalf.

How long we keep it

  • Active leads: retained while we are actively working to deliver your quote and connect you with an installer (typically 30–90 days).
  • Closed/qualified leads: retained for 7 years for compliance and audit purposes, then deleted.
  • Opted-out contacts: retained on a permanent suppression list (so we don't accidentally re-contact you), but no other data is processed.

Other privacy rights

Outside of California (or in addition to your CCPA rights), you may at any time:

  • Request a copy of the data we have on you (Right to Access)
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (Right to Delete) — applies under CCPA, GDPR, and similar
  • Opt out of all communications (covered above)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in the footer.

Updates to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, if you're an active lead, notify you by email.
