Pacific Solar Advisors

About

Independent. Honest. One installer.

We're an independent California-based solar referral service and consumer advisory that connects homeowners with one trusted local solar installer. No swarm of cold callers. No upsell incentive. No door-knocking.

How we make money

When you submit our quote form, we give you a free consultation and refer you to one installer we have worked with before. If that installer wins your job, we receive a referral fee — paid by the installer, not by you.

Our referral fee is fixed per qualified handoff. We earn the same whether you buy a 6 kW system or a 14 kW system, whether you add a battery or not, whether you finance or pay cash. We have no incentive to upsize you, finance you, or add storage you don't need.

What that means for you

  • Independent consultant — we do not install solar ourselves, so we have no equipment-margin to defend
  • Unbiased system sizing — fixed referral fee means we cannot earn more by oversizing you
  • Consultation is online — mostly form + email; no in-person sales meeting unless you ask for one
  • One installer, not five — your phone will not ring for a week
  • No high-pressure sales — no door-knocking, no today-only price, no battery upsell ambush
  • Free to you — the installer pays our referral fee out of their margin, not added to your quote

Before you submit the form

Because we connect you with a third-party installer (we are not the contractor), you'll be asked to acknowledge our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy when you submit the quote form. These spell out what we are (an independent referral service), what we are not (the contractor installing your system), how your information moves, and your TCPA / CCPA rights.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your contact info to multiple installers. One match, one installer — that's it.
  • We don't run door-to-door sales. We've never knocked on a door. We never will.
  • We don't make today-only price claims. Any reputable solar quote holds for 7–30 days.
  • We don't claim incentives that aren't real. The 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit (Section 25D) treatment for residential solar changed at the end of 2025 — most California shoppers in 2026 should plan as if it no longer applies to purchases. We will not pretend otherwise.
  • We don't sell leases or PPAs as our default. We tell you when buying is the better call (it usually is, when you can).

How we decide who to send you to

We work with a small set of vetted California-licensed installers. Our current primary partner was selected on five criteria — all independently verifiable:

  • Active California CSLB license (verifiable at cslb.ca.gov)
  • Workmanship warranty of 10+ years on installation
  • In-house crew (not subcontracted day-laborers)
  • Transparent quoting: per-watt price + cash vs loan principal disclosure
  • No history of state Attorney General actions, no pattern of BBB complaints, no Vision-Solar-style implosion risk

Where our installer partner has worked

Our current installer partner has completed 85+ residential solar and battery installations across 30+ Southern California cities — with a real concentration in the San Gabriel Valley and Eastside LA. That is where they hold standing relationships with local permit offices and utility inspectors, which is why we currently route most California referrals to them.

Many of these installs are ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units) — a setup most national installers don't quote well. If you have an ADU question, you're in unusually good hands.

If you are outside this footprint, we'll tell you up front and either decline the lead or refer to a different installer in our network — never quietly hand you to someone with no track record in your area.

Our bet

The solar industry has a documented trust crisis. Multiple state attorneys general have filed actions against large national installers in the last 24 months. Door-to-door sales reps misrepresenting basic facts is the rule, not the exception. Most homeowners we talk to have already had at least one bad interaction with a solar salesperson.

Our bet is that there's a real, durable market for the opposite of that — a small operation that gives you honest math, one installer match, no pressure, in your preferred language (we support English, Mandarin, and Cantonese), and that earns referrals through actually being useful instead of paid acquisition velocity. If we're right, we don't need to be big. We just need to be the one people recommend to their neighbor.
